    I don't know if this has been asked yet or not....

    Do the new Vienna Instruments all sustain? In other words, are the samples looped (when they need to be of course)?

    With many Pro Edition legato instruments, if one played a legato phrase and then held the last note, this note would not sustain. Hopefully the new VI's are smart enough to do this....

    I've a feeling this wil be handled by the 'Legato on one string' and 'Legato Repeat' performance patches, so that they sound authentic and not looped.

    Just to clarify:
    The new instruments are apparently "smart", so are they smart enough to hold a note at the end of a phrase for as long as I hold a key down? I hate it when my notes run out. (I'm not referring to my banknotes.. [:D] )

    I would really love if instead of loops, it would play legato on a string as mentioned above. But loops are better than nothing surely [:)]

    Check out the articulations. I'm pretty positive this is how they will do it.

    Yes, since the user cannot do any edits at sample level,
    this information is very important.

    Chamber strings and Orchestral strings do have looped sustains for the performance interval legati. They are automatically triggered and crossfaded if you hold any note longer than the original note length of the performance interval legato sample.
    For solostrings you have the option to retrigger any note on the same key, which gives you an original bowchange on this specific note.

    Excellent, this is just what I wanted to hear. The SC looks even better value for money to me now (light the blue touch paper, and retire to a safe distance).
