I would really love if instead of loops, it would play legato on a string as mentioned above. But loops are better than nothing surely [:)]

Check out the articulations. I'm pretty positive this is how they will do it.

Chamber strings and Orchestral strings do have looped sustains for the performance interval legati. They are automatically triggered and crossfaded if you hold any note longer than the original note length of the performance interval legato sample.
For solostrings you have the option to retrigger any note on the same key, which gives you an original bowchange on this specific note.

Excellent, this is just what I wanted to hear. The SC looks even better value for money to me now (light the blue touch paper, and retire to a safe distance).
