  • rayverb?

looks interesting. anyone ever try it? BTW how's MIR doing?

  • Thanks for asking - MIR is doing fine ... just returned from another week of round-the-clock IR-recordings ... (... YAWN! ....)

RayVerb is an _very_ interesting approach, as long as you are aware of the fact that the ray-tracing-approach Prosoniq took is closer to synthesis than to sampling (in our lingo [;)] ...). I fooled around with the demo-version quite a bit and was impressed, but I didn't find a place for it in my arsenal of audio-tools.

  • Hey, I was in Lubeck (in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany) the other day. There's a church .. or catherdral there that has a great sound to it. Were it not for all the god bothering crap in there it'd be the perfect recording room, .. do you guys know if your taking IR's from there ... sorry I can't remember the name of it .. but it's the biggest church there.

Very high celing .. and painted white. Awesome reverb, shame it's waisted space huh! Be sooo cool to hear a choral group, or even a solo flautist perform.

  • While we have no plans to do MIR-recordings in Luebeck at the moment (sorry to says so), we will most certainly include at least on large church in the basic set of rooms for the first MIR-edition. You know, we have quite a few churches and cathedrals here in Vienna or its near vicinty, were people like Mozart, Haydn, Schubert and the like had their work played .... [:)]

Huh?? Never 'eard of 'em. What films did they score? Did they use Mac or PC?

    DG

  • 2001: A Space Odyssey for example... [;)] I'm almost sure they used their macs to get them money.
