3D effect

I have an iRiver MP3 player that adds an " Extreme 3D" effect to music-- a stereo imaging DSP that enhances the bass and creates a virtual surround effect. I really like the way it sounds with my sampled performances.

Is there a plug-in for the PC that does something similar?

well, the new mclass mastering suite in Reason will do something similar, but since it only works in Reason it wouldn't be much use to you. I think basically you are looking for a multi-band compressor and a stereo expander.

Thanks, Beat. Their Helicopter flying a in circle demo was highly effective. Not quite sure what this could do for music yet. But it's worth checking out.

I hope to set instruments at any place in the (3D) room with this effect. That's what I'm looking for. I'm going to test this Panorama-effect...

There is also a "3D"-plugin coming with the Sonitus suite in Sonar. I don't know if that's similar to what you are looking for.

What's the name of the Sonitus "3D" effect. I have the latest verion of Sonar 4 PE and don't see any "3D" effects?

I was referring to the Sonitus:fx Surround module.
