  • Ordering VSL Pro Edition

    Hi,

I was wondering how long it would take for a VSL Pro Edition order to arrive?

Whether or not I buy it now is dependant on whether I get this latest pitch. But if I do, then I would have to get straight on the case what with using VSL for the first time etc. [*-)]

I live in the UK, Mainland if that helps with the approximation [[;)]]

    Thanks again,

    Fizzy.

PS tried to find a contact email to ask, but couldn't. [:O]ops:

  • Fizzy,

I can't answer how long it will take to receive the discs, but I wanted to warn you that it takes a LONG time to extract the files and get them ready to use. I put one of our part-time people on it, and it took him almost 30 hours to extract the compressed archives from DVD for the entire Pro Edition, including the Performance Set.

  • I'd ask or phone the people at www.timespace.com as they are distributor of VSL in the UK and will deliver your DVDs if you order VSL, perhaps they can have it shipped with "UK Next Working Day by 1pm... £5.95" hehe.

  • Yeh, make sure you have a nice long deadline if you get the pitch. [[;)]]

I bought just the Solo Strings package to use on a specific job that came in and, though the package arrived next day (from Time & Space - they're usually very good, so long as they have stock), I had a lot of work to do.

Reading the manuals, extracting the files, auditioning patches, organising how the product will work on your system, preparing templates, downloading, unlocking and installing the Performance Tool and then learning how to use it. There's a lot to get to grips with if you're going to make full use of the library and it won't help if you're under pressure to write something to be delivered YESTERDAY!

    Good luck with the pitch!!

  • All true, but I must compliment VSL on the way they kept everything very friendly as far as organization of the many patches go.....the consistency is terrific.

  • Hi,

I would like to add, that the speed of your copying process also depends on the reading speed of your DVD drive. It might well be worth to go for a new, fast, read-only drive....

  • Ah thanks guys! [:D]

I'm sure if I get it then it will be a total roast for me! But as long as its a feesable roast then should be fine! [[;)]]

Better get looking for a big, fast, affordable HD! (any recomendations would be welcome [:O]ops: )

All the best til my next NooB post [:D]
