Ok and how do you think they are playing together ? : the trombones are playing one octave lower than the horns ? Trombones are performing in unison or they're playing a chord ? And what about the contrabass trombone : does it perform the same melody as the trombones but one octave lower ?

    So many questions ... [:D]

    thx

  • The horns are quite low. In a register that most composers didn't even know they could play. But the horns have the widest range of all the instruments in the orchestra. They are around the C2-C3 range here an octave above natural trombones, with the tuba and bass trombones below them. But it is a mixed layering, in other words, it is using some dovetailing.

  • Maybe some pp ctbasse pizz at each end of Bass Clarinet falling riff
Carter, can you tell us who the composer is ?

  • But just to be sure, I could check. I have this score.
