  • extended/prepared piano

Does anybody know if any of the "major" piano libraries includes anything in the way of extended techniques or "prepared" sounds? Mostly I'm looking for plucked notes inside the piano and harmonics (note played on keyboard while node is touched on the string). I've seen the "Prosonus Prepared Piano", and the "Total Piano", but neither seems to include a good standard piano.

I'd imagine I'll probably have to do this with two separate libraries, but I just wondered if anybody knew of a "magic bullet", to kill two birds with one stone.

X-sample percussion has quite a bit of prepared piano.

  • Thanks, James.

I'll check it out. It would be nice, though, if someone would include the prepared stuff in with the standard piano -- I mean, it's the same instrument, and all. And a *lot* of contemporary composers use at least the inside-the-piano stuff, if not so much "prepared" piano.

    thanks again,

    J.

G-Town has a Piano FX programm for free download. Perhaps not all that you are looking for...
