Hello,
I'm noticing that the dynamics in each of the articulations don't match. For example mf flute staccato is 127 whereas mf oboe staccato is 108. Furthermore, in many cases there are fewer dynamic layers for different instruments.
SO... how do you match dynamics and style of playing? It would be really nice if 108 was ALWAYS forte regardless of sustain, staccato, flute, trombone, etc... Is there any reason this is not the case? Im Finale, I would like to set "F" to change the velocity to 118, for instance, for every instrument and staff. As it is, I must create an "F" expression for each instrument because they are all different.
How do others out there manage to balance the instrument timbre and volume? Thanks for any suggestions.
