    I wonder if the are any plans to release samples of String Quartet for contemporaty music - with all the expressions which we find for exapmle in Anton Webern (op.9), Luigi Nono (Fragmente - Stille, An Diotima) or Helmut Lachenmann (Gran Torso) music.

    Re Lachenmann etc, I really don't think it would be worthwhile for any company to get into that sort of avant-garde technique sampling - very very few people would be interested in buying it. I think you may have to do it yourself, or maybe this is something that should simply be done with musicians, not samples?

    They are great sounds, though. And recorded very well on the WDR label...

    Lachemann SQ expression would need lot of work - but Nono's Fragmente - Stille, An Diotima expression are very much in scope of today composition.

    All the samples of solo strings inclouding mainly basic expression which more or less not very usefull - however good they are - in contemporary composition.

    On MRAC Publishing site you fine example of SQ (short study) 'Primo Giardino Parlante' which use samples string expression not easy to find.

    Having all the playing techniques (articulations) of above (left/right hand) I would call it as comprehensive or standard solo string library. As for now, the library of solo strings (including VSL) is just basic.
