  • Mathis,

be nice. I haven't heard this yet, but let's make sure dkala knows we are just making friendly talk and not trying to hurt anyone's feelings.

  • yes evan, lets try to not hurt someones feelings ....
dkala - something _must_ have happened with rendering or compressing, this cannot be opus 1, if - it has to be a hardcore test for our fingerprinting team

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • Hello,

There's no way I would wish to hurt your feelings on this. Sincerely. What I would suggest is that you try it again and use a lot more of the articulations available to you in the Opus 1. Plus mixing and the space in which you put the instruments. To get something as ambitious as this to sound good, I would suggest that you would need to sweat over every note and a piece like this would take ages to do. As a tip, you may wish to listen to Andy Blaney's Jeux de Vague or Anton's Paranoids in the VSL demo section.

This example you have posted, I'm afraid, in no way shows the possibilities available to you with Opus 1. Sorry to be little blunt on this; everyone here in this community wants everyone else to do well and produce something good every time. Not always easy of course. If you post something thats perhaps not all it should be here, you can expect a fairly negative feedback I'm afraid.

Most of the guys here, are hard nosed professionals that write their own stuff. They sweat every note. Next time I'm sure it will sound a lot better.

    All the best

yeah, what the heck was that? Good thing CM doesn't need anything from me because that attitude isn't helpful. he might not like it, but my comments have always been helpful, he just never wanted to listen to what could use improving in the Library. VSL is renowned for their defensiveness.

  • Sorry, no harm intended.

  • No worries! You young lads today! I don't know. So full of testosterone! You should get out and exercise more.

My Grandma started walking 3 miles a day when she was 74; now she's 93 and we haven't a bloody clue where she is. [6]

  • 19 * 365 * 3 = 20805 miles. So in three years and nine months she should be back. Dont´worry.

  • Ok,Ok my apologize to all of you.May be something go wrong with mp3 rendering or uploading the file,or my ears.Blame on me i have not listen it after rendering and uploading.I have a slow internet band so it is a pain uploading and downloading big files. After all the original file play very well at my ears(i was wrong),i have compared it with Abbado recording with Philarmonia orchestra). My apologize also to VSL company, its absolutely not my intention to damage the company at all.I will remove the file as soon as possible.
Anyway i appreciate yours criticism and suggestions, this help me to work more on midi orchestration.
    Thank you.

No need to appologize or worry about anything, I'm sure. Must be something wrong with the rendering and there is no way VSL would think anything untoward, I'm sure.

In fact, appologies from me. I should have at least tried a more constructive criticism. [:O]ops: We are here to help one another, so I'm hoping this does not put you off talking to any of us in any way.

Yes sir, slow interenet connections are a big pain. Any time you have questions about midi orchestration, the guys here will be only too willing to try and help. I guarantee it. Nice talking with you.
