Hi All
I have been searching for the most useable and logically layed out portamento/glissando samples for woods/strings and can not find them. Give a listen to any of Lil' Johnny Williams scores - especially the action stuff. He frequently employs (as do countless others) these intense and very quick wood and/or string portamentos (often from root to 5th or higher). They are really fast and often very high in range.
I have the VSL library which has some beautiful stuff - BUT, if you have a high degree of modulation happening, (or employ midi patch change, which I do not) you have to load as many gliss's as you have modulations. In the Advanced Orchestra set (The Peter S Series) , the way they have laid out the harp major/minor run ups, is, although somewhat limiting in technique (unlike the VSL lay out in the performance section - mulitple techniques for one chord laid out across the keyboard) it is great for modulation ease.
Does anyone know where I could find or what library is available that features diverse, fast and useful glissando/portamento FX's for woods/strings?
Thanks a million!
Shawn
