  • Cubase SX Modus Operandi

What is the recomended way of organizing the enormous amount of midi tracks when working on a full orchestra piece with at least 6 articulations per instrument?
First I created a dedicated midi track for everything but ended up with over 20 tracks for violins only, with single notes spead al over the window. Then I discovered program/bank changes and everything became more organized, But.... is there an easy way of creating program changes in Cubase SX?
Now one need to open a controller lane and stretch it completely to be able to see the difference between 1,2,3,4,5

I consider above not as real problems, but rather searching for the most convenient way of working
How do other people work within these "limitations" I wonder.

    Regards,
    Geert.

  • I set the midi track in Cubase to Midi Channel "all." In Giga, I have an entire port assigned with articulations of a particular instrument (up to 16.) Then in the key editor I can reroute the desired notes to be whatever articulation by reassigning the midi channel of the selected notes.
This way each instrument only takes up one track in Cubase.
