  • 3 Performance Tool Suggestions

    These come up almost daily:

    1) A BYPASS/THRU keyswitch (to play chords on the normal non-legato layers) NOTE: Of course there should be no octave shifting when keyswitching to BYPASS mode. Maybe this mode would best be described as NON-LEGATO mode instead of BYPASS.

    2) True MONOPHONIC keyboarding technique/behaviour (ie: a held down note gets reattacked if another playing note is released and the held down note is still being held down)

    3) A RESET keyswitch (just in case the tool isn't perfect or in cases of rare problems where hitting reset would be great)

A fourth suggestion relates solely to the EXS Performance Tool:
    4) Some method of calling up the currently selected EXS instrument's PERFORMANCE TOOL via a computer keyboard command (to avoid having to go through nested windows)

Well, although it's been discussed in other threads, this is so important and fundamental to how some people work that I am forced to again ask that this issue is given a very high priority please.

    Thanks, Don

  • I also hope to see in the near futures additions like key-commands for the EXS - Performance Tool. Like in my case when composing and setting up a big orchestral arrangement, sometimes it costs me a lot of time.

Sure, I also agree with the other points suggested by Evan Evans.

I'm sure in the near future I will be surprised.

    Hans-Peter.

  • Sorry Folks,

this is not possible. The PlugIn Framework doesn't pass any KeyEvents.
Processing KeyEvents is in the sole domain of Logic itself.

Bypass/Thru KeySwitch: Any suggestions which keys to use. Since the individual modes allow (more or less) free choice of keySwitches it'll come quickly to interference.

Good point. How about making it assignable? Would avoid potential problems later...

  • Simon,
good point either. Please see (and contribute) the new thread "VSL tool v2 wishlist.."

Ah. i see. I understand. But is it really a plugin framework? I mean the VSl tool is not a plug-in persey. It's something that attaches itself to the EXS instrument. Is it a plug-in technically?

Just for clarification, no computer key command could be made to open up the VSL Tool?

    Thanks,
