  • WE NEED A CHART / DIAGRAM PLEASE

    Herb and all at VSL,

Please create a PDF or HTML Chart which has on the left ALL the instruments you have created thus far going down, and columns across the top for each EDITION. This way we can see what instruments and articulations are in which libraries.

    For instance:<a href=http://evanevans.dyndns.org/E3_Studio/Macintosh%20HD/Users/evanevans/Desktop/VSL_Chart_Idea.jpg">

Thanks, that would be very very very helpful.

    Evan Evans

  • Something similar will be posted at the Truespec website shortly. Each package will have it's own page, but there will also be a summary page for all.

  • evan, would you please give me the url - somehow the picture does not show up - i'd be interested in your approach to visualize it

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • hmm, when i think about it more closely, this could get real work [;)] - i would probably have to go down to single sample level, because eg. in the bassoon there is more than one instrument mapped - split the gig- or exs-files all into dimensions and compare to any other which equal dimensions in other editions. not a problem for a query of course, but who ever had a look into a gig- or exs-files knows, it is a very time consuming task. so at least this would last a while

  • It's working now. Take a peek.

  • thanks, evan - but this is just what i said - ehhm wrote - before [:(]
this list would be _endless_ long and needed to be split up in layers, articulations, instruments, instrument families and groups because otherwise you could not compare it. and because it will get so long, you hardly will get some overview about it.
we currently have about 1,200 public articulations, say each has average 8 layers the result will be about 10.000 lines [[:|]] who should read that ....

  • CM,

Well you made the darn gigantic library I think we need the gigantic list!

  • Can't we have something in between? (just to start out)

I understand what Christian is saying about a list 10 miles long (or kilometres...) but is it not possible to have a more concise list with only the instruments listed and not every single articulation? Obviously there would be a disclaimer to say that not all sub-instruments and possibilities are listed, but at least show us if the Solo Violin is in the Horizon set and the Pro Edition or not etc etc etc.

I appreciate how thorough you folks at VSL are and it never fails to impress me. Please realise also that you have lots of very excited folks out here - some of us are existing users, some new potential customers.

We'd really like to be able to make an informed decision about what to buy next. We want to spend money but we want to spend it wisely. You have a time-limited offer until November 24th, but quite frankly I'm not sure what to order.

Please help us buy your products..... [*-)]

    Thanks - Colin

  • I agree. I have yet to decide between the EWQLSO Gold Edition and Opus 1. A comparison chart would be absolutely necessary for me.

  • Yeah, guys,

your product line is getting complicated [:)])

    Just to add a Q:

I´ve ordered the EXS-PRO. Does it economically make sense to order *all* Horizon-packages?

    .......

Ehm, I mean for me, not for you!

    Jochen

  • Click the link below. This takes you to our Horizon page. On OPUS ONE, click and the articulation list as published on VSL appears:

Click this link and you'll get the comparison of the First and Pro Edition.

While it would great to have the Excel file you're looking for Evan, we're sorry, but time doesn't permit. I hope this will at least help some of you.

Please note that the articulation lists for all packages are now up.

No, I think you should look at the guitars, Glass & Stones.
