I am a happy owner of First Edition EXS, waiting for Pro Edition. I have also been impressed by VSL's customer-friendly approach to upgrade paths. However, the release of Horizon is disappointing to me. In particular, I am surprised that something called the "Pro Edition" would not include all solo strings, and that I will have to pay extra to get Viola and Bass.
Different people would clearly have different opinions as to what "should" or "should not" be included in the Pro Edition. Certainly, it is logical to charge extra for less common instruments such as guitar, glass harmonica, etc. So here is one opinion that solo strings are "workhorses" that should be part of the Pro Edition.

as the Pro Edition already contains solo violin and solo cello, we'll offer Pro Edition users a special set containing solo viola and bass to complete their string quartet (of course for a special price).
This upgrade set will have the same sample content as the Horizons' solo viola and bass.
