  • Idea for Next Generation of Performace Legato

When writing legato lines, I often find myself wishing that there was a "restriking" sample. When you play a note, and then strike it again in a legato way, it just retriggers that "ending" note, which sounds like Mariah Carey being kicked in the groin. [:)]

How awesome would it be if you could play this beautiful legato line, and be able to play a single note several time in the line without having to go to the repetition tool or something. The idea of being able to hear a string player attack legato tie with new force, or the toungue technique in the wind and horns just seems very cool.

It's just an idea that I thought I would share.

    Thanks!

    Now there's a CD I would buy.

Why not use the cube? There are so many notes to retrigger in there.

BTW big guy ....coming over this afternoon?

  • I have long wished that the "reptition_slow" samples, which are beautiful, could be integrated into the legato tool. I'm hoping that once more dimensions become available in Gigastudio that this will be possible.

  • slaroussels is on to something. That's the kind of thing I'm talking about.
I have gone to the cube, and it's ok. It can work, but it would be nice to be able to play the line with out tweaking with one note on another track. Besides, my orchestra template in Logic is already 185 track wide [[:|]] Oy.

My thinking really is, it's the difference between "...Da,da,dum", and "..,Ya, da, dum". Of course, it is possible that explaining it this way makes me a Dum Dum.

Only if you wear that cologne I like. [[;)]]

    How disturbing. [*-)]
