you can save and open individual files for the alternate, legato and
repetition tools. also you can load and save the entire set. just go under file and save- i think its a vlp file or something like that. hope that helps

you don't miss something,

the port settings are the only one thing, which can't be saved individually,
because you open multi instances of the same programm.

Windows only saves your last port.
This can't be overruled, because there is only one programm exe file for the performance tool.

When I'm working with multiple tool instances on one PC, I'm saving all tools individually (toolsettings1, toolsettings2, toolsetting3 etc.)

Best would be, not to shut down the computers and hoping that gigatudio does not crash. [8-)]

Version 2 will be a multiport solution.

As much as I see your point regarding the port not being saved by Windows I also believe you are wrong...

It's just a design flaw in the tool, that's it. The port setting should of course be saved in the tool set file and not for the application itself. Obviously it will be remedied in the next version so there's no reason to debate it, but blaming it on Windows is really wrong.

Giga won't crash if you leave it on 24/7 by the way! [:)] My studio defaults to "always on".

BTW - what percentage can you load up to with your settings? My system starts flaking around 96%.

What irritates me isn't the percentage, it's the total! Whose idea was it to design an OS that only lets Giga use half the memory you have installed?!

nick, you are right pointing out it's not a question of percentage - eg. on a 1GB w2k/xp-machine this 99% are about 500 MB. i feel you're not right when blaming the operating system, you have to recall the endless-wave-engine originates from a very old thechnology - 1996 ? developed by connexant or rockwell for modems (!) to provide a continuous data-stream even if communication on the telephone-line gets interrupted.
in those days nobody even thought on gigabytes of memory so imho it is simply not designed to go beyond the magic 1GB-limit.
even 1998 in practice it has been impossible to have more than 1GB installed in a computer, but ourdays we're hitting the 2,4,8 GB-limits regarding thread-size, addressing, ect.
hopefully GS 3.0 will overcome this limits and nemesys is already developing for 64-bit operating systems, because this is what we will need in the not so far future
