  • cool...8 double horns!

Just curious for plans on muted and stopped brass.

  • Wow very cool. This is a great idea. Usually sample developers hardly give customers any updates on what's happening, VSL not only keeps people in the loop but they do it with pictures too!

  • And nice to see on the photos that you even invited Thomas to help you with working out an optimal recording approach together.

  • Martin - Very nice!

Craig - Didn't Herb state that muted brass are in the plans some time ago? If he didn't, then I'm just as curious. Muted brass is overlooked in all libraries I've seen so far. I actually did simulated muted horns for my current project using some tweaks and filters in Kontakt on the horn section patches just to overcome this for the time being. I still do trumpets and trombones live since I can't find any nice muted samples. Not that I mind doing it that way, but it would be nice to have the option...

  • I'm sure he must have (I lose track sometimes), I was just needing them so I thought I'd just mention it. A little selfish but the sooner they are available the better.

  • awesome!!

    this is great martin!

  • I just wanted to thank Herb for giving me the opportunity to participate on his out of this world large scaled project! The days I spent in Vienna were truly magnificient and the caliber of all the people working there is top notch! They're all extremely professional and yet very relaxed and cool. The horn players were great, and the sound engineers did a remarkable job at capturing the right sound of the 8 horns in unison. I was drooling all over the silent stage, just waiting till I could get my hands on these babies! To me it was a dream come true. Watching how everything is done made me respect these guys even more than before, and the only regret I have is that I couldn't stay longer!

So thank you Herb, Sabine, Maya, Christian and everyone else for believing in me to help achieve the perfect horn sound. Also a big thanks to Herb for being such an incredibly cool guy!

Seriously, these guys are so determined with their work, to give everyone the best, and it REALLY shows.

While the contribution I made is small fish in a large sea I really hope people enjoy the 8 horns. I know I will!

    Meanwhile just enjoy VSL.

    Best regards,
    Thomas J. Bergersen

  • Dear VSL Team:

It is no secret that your samples are beyond amazing!. I also want to thank you again for your excellent customer relations. The manner in which you include your customers in the creative process is just as innovative and ingenious as your sound library itself.

I have never seen the word "thanks" so many times on any forum anywhere, so I hope my expressions of gratitude do not appear redundant-- but THANKS a thousand times a thousand.

And to all you VSL users-- it is an honor to join your chorus of appreciation!!

    All best wishes,
    JWL

  • [[:D]] can i just echo JWL there [[:D]]

    thanks VSL

  • "Thanks" should go to you as well, Thomas, for your contribution of ideas to the library. The flautando effect is perhaps my favorite of the pro edition demos. And thanks goes to Herb and team for listening so well to your users.

  • Dear valued friends, may I say this time,

On behalf of the whole team and especially on behalf of Herb who is on vacation I really want to thank you for giving us the most wonderful feedback that we could have ever imagined. I'm really moved reading your kind comments, and it's hard to express my thoughts in English which is not my mother tongue without being embarrassing or too emotional.

It is a great pleasure and really a big honour to create tools for such a wonderful community. Thank you all so much.

With all your thankfulness, we still know there is so much to do, so much to improve, so much to create. We will go on doing so!

All the very best from Vienna,
    Martin
