I have been in software design and IT consultancy for quite a while now, so I was able (as a music amateur) to build up a nice collection of orchestral samples and 4 sampler/DAW PC's - I even run my 1-person IT business in a former studio [:)] I only need a square meter for my laptop, the rest is for fooling around with the music toys.
But things like these developments really start to itch sooooo much: I am really in the wrong business, hehehe.
Maybe I should also dive into the software engineering part of stuff like this - have done numerical libraries and optimizations as well. A lot more interesting that designing web apps and consulting on development practices...
I am curious, Herb, if you are actually in contact with Ernest about what he is doing with RI's. MIR will definitely make VSL's position even more solid in the sample market (although I still can't figure out how this can be a profitable business - really hope VSL's doing fine now).
Cheers,
Peter
