  • MIR - Multi Impulse Response Reverbaration and Mixing Engine

Maybe some of you might be interested in one of our technical developements.
The "MIR" project is one (important) part of the masterplan of our virtual orchestration tools.

Here you have the direct link:

    best wishes

  • phew.... [*-)]

    Flabbergasted, [[:|]] hehe

    This sounds very promising!!!

Will this be an integrated part of the VSL product(s) or will it also be marketed as a standalone tool (I assume plugin)?

I recently purchased the Classical Spaces from Ernest Cholakis and I really love this approach to creating ambience.

    Great project, Herb!

  • Ok have to do this here too

    <deep breath>

    YAY!!!!!!

  • I have been in software design and IT consultancy for quite a while now, so I was able (as a music amateur) to build up a nice collection of orchestral samples and 4 sampler/DAW PC's - I even run my 1-person IT business in a former studio [:)] I only need a square meter for my laptop, the rest is for fooling around with the music toys.

But things like these developments really start to itch sooooo much: I am really in the wrong business, hehehe.

Maybe I should also dive into the software engineering part of stuff like this - have done numerical libraries and optimizations as well. A lot more interesting that designing web apps and consulting on development practices...

I am curious, Herb, if you are actually in contact with Ernest about what he is doing with RI's. MIR will definitely make VSL's position even more solid in the sample market (although I still can't figure out how this can be a profitable business - really hope VSL's doing fine now).

    Cheers,
    Peter

  • Herb,

You guys at VSL kill me!! [[:|]]

Don't you have enough work to do already? I hope you have cancelled that holiday you planned for summer 2006....... [[;)]]

(picks himself up off the floor after reading about the MIR project...)

    Whew!
    Colin

  • [:O] this is great so this will a plug in ? or a seperate app? vst app?

  • As one famous astronaut once said: «My God, it's full of stars!»

Without a doubt, Herb, you, your team and your product is definitely the future in sampling technology. This will lead computer manufacturers to step forward with even greater machines then the ones we have today... (Hey mac users: imagine the G7 with four processors!!! [[:|]] )

    AMAZING HERB!

  • I would post something if I hadn't fainted.

  • Wow! [[:|]] Nothing short of amazing!!

    /Mattias

  • I am deeply impressed about the power of you, Herb, and your team! Amazing - awsome... exciting!!!!! [:D]

    one might say:

    "A small step for VSL ( [[;)]] ) - a giant step for mankind!" [:D]

    Thanks sooooooooo much!!!

That's why I invest money in your products - innovation and quality !
The only thing I can reproach the VSL team is, that you always beat your pre-announced libs (pro edition) with increased samples. So the harddisk I bought weeks ago - considering the old specs for pro edition - is a 200GB one and nowadays too small [[;)]]
