    Dear Herb,

    Regarding VSL for Kontakt;

    1. no plan
    2. still planing
    3. already working on it
    4. will have to wait a while

    Or why not dump it in to CDextract and then fine tune it?

    You see VSL is a killer sample library and Kontakt is a great Sampler which a lot of mac people got insted of GIGA on a PC.

    I understand it's not so simple and easy to do that, but can you give us an update on this topic?

    well, I know *I'M* working on a couple of KONTAKT things I'm keeping from herb and the team so I can surprise them. I'd rather them do a specific Kontakt version to take advantage of the sampler, than jsut do a giga to kontakt conversion.

    Ditto on what King said. I'd also vote for a native version if they are to do it.

    A Kontakt version has to be built in a native version for a library like VSL. A translation using CDXtrack or Translator isn't really strong enough. I participated in testing two libraries that attempted this. One rejected the translation and built from scratch, the other that was a translation didn't have the quality sound that was really needed.

    Also, features appearing in the Kompakt version of Kontakt will be formally released as a Kontatk update some time after QLSO has been released. This, to me, would seem a good time to review a native Kontakt version for VSL.
