  • Performance Tool Confusion

    Hi,
I'm very new to VSL & Giga, so sorry if this is a daft question. I'm trying to understand the Performance Tool. I've tried it on a legato setting with violin and viola performance samples, but when I play the keyboard, I get doubled-up notes (sometimes octaves, sometimes not) most of the time, but not always, and the result when I hit the same key twice varies. Have I got wrong settings somewhere or does it sound like the Performance Tool isn't working properly on my system?
    Thanks

  • Hello Contramotion,

are you running Gigastudio and sequenzer on the same PC.
If yes, you have to use a midirouting tool to get midi from the sequenzer through the performance tool into Gigastudio.

You find more information about marple tool (such a midi routing software plugin) here:

You can simply check if the performance tool gets midinformations:

Load the alternation or repetition tool, go into the editmode.
You will see midi note numbers (I think default settings from c1 to b1)
on the right of each preset line.

If you play any key between c1 or b1 a black marker placed on the first keyswitch number should jump between the different preset lines.

If you play any key in the playrange the black marker should jump to the next keyswitch number.

If nothing happens, the tool does not receive any mididatas.

    all the best
    Herb

  • welcome on board, contramotion!
i like to add, this looks like you didn't disable the respective midi-in in gigastudio (set midi-in to *none* for the port on which you're using the performance-tool)
