  • New perf tool problem

    Hi Herb and Chris!

    This one is very tricky:

After saving a perf tool file, my Nuendo card 9652 gets unabled!!!
No sound anymore till I close the Ptool and open it again.

Then the 8 I/O Card from Nuendo finds the signal from the Nuendo PCI card (9652) again...

    What's up? Any idea?

The thing that is different to my other two systems is, that this card is NOT 96 kHz... So could this be the reason? if so - then why?

    Thanks

    Matt, from Basel

  • sorry matt, i'm confused - do you say the soundcard is not able to give you 96kHz, or it is not set to 96 kHz? besides that, i just have really no idea, how this two parts can interferre ...

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • quite strange. It could be a windows thing and that its losing digital sync or something when windows close/open.

It might also be a "allow applications to steal ASIO outputs" issue.

    not sure tho....

  • Well it disables the PCI card (whatever kHz...).

After reopening the PT the card works again....
    Very very strange indeed!

    Thanks for any help...

  • matt, my question was, because this card should do 96kHz (if we're talking about the same beast http://www.steinberg.net/en/ps/products/hardware/nuendo9652/index.php?sid=59cd0ec427a33abb94cef2ed806364d1">http://www.steinberg.net/en/ps/products/hardware/nuendo9652/index.php?sid=59cd0ec427a33abb94cef2ed806364d1 and your 8 I/O is the midex8? hmm, it is described to use an *LTB-protocol* - that sounds like it will use realtime-midimessages, which are also sent *between* the bytes of other midi-messages.
the performance-tool has to filter this codes from the stream and to send it after the processed midi-code - i saw the realtime-messages have been doubled within some synthetic (means randomly created) code-sequences, but we didn't notice it in a *regular* midi-stream.
also i have no idea, how that should affect the audio-output .... but who knows
