  • pro edition when??

[:)] any idea when the pro edition is coming out?? weeks monthes??
trying to plan for future purchases ? thanks

  • Everything is working fine. Recording is done. The first part is edited and mapped will go out for betatesting next week.

We don't want to announce a official shipping date at this moment.
But we will announce it 4 to 6 weeks before shipping.

Maybe there is a news letter in May. [[;)]]

  • Hi Herb,

Is Giga 3.0 mandatory for the release of the Pro edition, or do you intend to release it anyway if Giga 3 is not ready when you are?

    Thanks,
    Martin

  • anyway

why should we keep it back, there is so much cool stuff in the Pro. [:D]
I can't wait to hear the user compositions which will be possible with these samples...

  • So that means the Pro edition will be 16 bits, rather than the 24 bit version previously advertised. Correct?

Will there be a later free update to a 24 bit GS 3.0 version if and when GS 3.0 is released, or will you hold off on releasing a 24 bit version until the Symphonic release?

  • I think it would be premature to set anything in stone regarding what they will do "when" gs 3.0 comes out. They've done it before and had to shift direction, so I think its best too let them feel out the market and the need, as WELL as time frame of things.

  • Well I sure hope the first edition stays out until the demos of QLSO come out. I've been putting off a purchase a VSL until I can at least compare the two in some way. It would sure suck to miss the VIP pricing [:(]

  • i don't under stand ?? what is the speculation about a 16 bit bit pro version - it is clearly advertised as 24.
BTW i just got my performance set - i only had a hr to play with it .

  • The 16 versus 24 Bit solution depends on giga 3.0 release date.
I would prefer to offer both resolutions in a bundle.

The only problem is the dasize, it's not possible to replicate the library in two resolutions on DVD.

And we don't know the exact datasize of the Pro, it seems that it will be much larger than we expected. (for the same announced price of course)

Offering two resolutions won't be a problem on a harddrive.

We keep you informed, regarding this issue.

    best wishes
    Herb

  • Speaking only for myself, I have to say that I don't really care whether it will be released in 16 or 24 bits (there are pros and cons for each that have already been discussed on the forum) so long as the release date doesn't get pushed back.
