    I am extremely pleased with the Cube!! FYI to anyone considering XP and Giga.. I had severe problems with Giga and XP until I removed non-essential Midiyoke drivers. Runs like a charm now with Giga on a dedicated UDMA Hard Drive with my new VSL samples. Runs and sounds excellent (P4 768MB ram). Definitely will be investing in one or possibly two additioanal PC's just for Giga/VSL however. Too much fun. THANKS VSL...GREAT JOB. I will absolutely upgrade to full Pro version when available. [:D] Wahoo! (P.S. Are you interested in users submitting demo files?)

    I don't know about anyone else, but I'd love to hear some VSL demos from people who don't work for VSL (not that I have anything against Herb's incredible demos :wink[[:)]]! I think that this would be very helpful for some of us composers/performers who don't have the time (or technical know-how) to spend hours programming, fine tuning, and applying effects to our recordings to see how good a sound we can get without the hassle.

    So far, it sounds like VSL is working wonders with GIGA--I'm hoping the same can be said for the eagerly anticipated EXS version [[:)]].

    there are considerations regarding a kind of file-exchange for registered users in the future, though no specific schedule currently exists for that task.

    regarding your statement about *non-essential drivers for midiyoke*:
    could you please specify your approach to this problem, because also we notice that on some of our computers and did not find a generic solution until now

    Rob,

    Can you tell me what exactly, in a step by step fashion, you did to make this system work. Because mine flat out DOES NOT WORK. There must be a lot of other people who are having the same problem. What drivers are you talking about, and how did you access them, etc.

    Hi all: Hey impatient... I would love to share some VSL music when I am finsihed with some complete pieces. After only a week with the Cube, I must admit I am getting a lot done (the lush samples are very inspiring), so perhaps in the near future we could all share something. The user file exchange sounds like a great idea!

    And William, I had installed some virtual midi drivers (Midiyoke) that are very common (at least among Cakewalk/Sonar users) on my PC anticipating the need for them to use with Gigstudio. They were not only not required (as GS installs it's own drivers), but after emailing GS support, they informed me to uninstall those mdiyoke drivers. As soon as I did GS came up, worked great and hasn't crashed or locked up since. You can access a view of all your drivers in Control Panel, System, Device Manager, then right click on specific drivers to look at properties which gives you the ability to Upgrade, Uninstall, etc. BE CAREFUL that you don't uninstall something you need.     Rob, thanks for that reply, however it doesn't seem to apply to my system as there are no additional midi drivers.

    hi. I've had the exact same problem with giga locking up with the midiyoke (yes, joke) drivers. glad I'm not alone! but the fact remains, that I need something to route the MIDI-signals internally from cubase sx to performance tools, and then to gigastudio via the nemesys ports. damnit the joke drivers wouldn't work!

    I happened by chance upon something that might improve my system's operation with GS - in installing a Cakewalk program I received a warning that Legacy audio drivers already present in the system were to be removed because of a potential conflict with WDM ASIO drivers for an Echo Mia card. Perhaps this is the cause of the Gigastudio crashes. If anyone had any input on this I would appreciate it. Maybe similar conflicts on other systems are causing such problems? There was no warning from Windows XP or any of the OEMs.

    This will be of no help but maybe a bit of reassurance. I run GSt, Sonar 2 with an Echo Mia card and WDM drivers (dated 6/12/02) with no problems what so ever. I am not using XP though but rather ME.
