  • Anklung from Percussion can't load?

Could someone else for me load the Anklung from the Percussion Pro library (041 Percussion folder, I think?) and see if it crashes your machine too? I'm always getting either Error 5, or it bombs out the Conexant Driver and reboots my machine. I've loaded in every other bank now (yes, that took a bit!) to make sure everything else works ok. I've tried extracting the file individually to another drive from the .exe, tried loading it on another drive. Tried loading it onto the same drive in a different directory, same thing, it always crash, but everything else loads fine. Running Giga96 on XP.

    Thanks,

    Devon

  • Mine is corrupted as well - it won't load.

  • I am having the same issue - 41E Percussion / E07 Anklug - on Windows 2000 running Giga 160. (Maybe it's a percussionist's union thing.) [:D]

  • Whew, least it's not my machine or something stupid like that. [:)] Now to wait for a fix. Least the bank isn't 1.4 gigs. [[:|]]

Awesome! I'll be awaiting your reply. The size sounds right, but I'd have to be on the VSL machine to tell you, and I'm not currently. I remember it was 28 megs in size.

  • Mine as well - might be a general read error on the DVD?

PS: I am done with copying for now (60 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!).... [[:|]]

  • I've just checked the DVD with the Anklung file.
There was no problem to extract the folder including the Anklung.

But loading the extracted gigfile crashes gigastudio.

After that I loaded the file into the editor.

Gigaeditor reported an error and tried to repair it.
The damaged wav file seems to be the ANKL_sh_B5.wav
    (sh = short variation)

I didn't have success to save the restored file.
So I deleted the complete wav folder with the "ANKL_sh wavs" in Gigaeditor.

You have to ignore the gigaeditor messages, which informs you, that these wavfiles are used in some instruments.

After that I could save the gigfile.

This workaround enables you to work with the "me" (medium lenght), and "lo" (long length) versions of this instrument.

We'll also upload the full version in our update area soon.

    best wishes
    Herb
