I've just taken delivery of the Pro Edition upgrade. I need to get working as fast as possible because of deadlines. Does anyone know which is quicker: extracting the files directly from the DVD drive or first copying the DVD exe files to the PC's hard drive and then extracting them there?

jrm1, i would say this depends on the ratio of your DVD-speed against your processor-speed. whereas a fast processor extracts from a slow DVD-drive better, a slow processor needs more time. on average the extraction turned up to be even faster than a direct copy from DVD, so copying files first to harddisk will extend the time needed for installing the library
