  • Articulation question for owners of the Pro Edition

To make my question easier I will use Trumpet in C as my example, even though it applies to solo trombone, horn, etc.

The thing I am confused about is that on the web site, in the articulations for the Pro Edition, the listings for Solo Trumpet all say they are from the "First" edition (go to the articulations section for Brass and Woodwinds and see for yourself). The First Edition has no looped sustains for any instruments. No articulations marked "Pro" are included in that list for Trumpet in C in the articulation list for the Pro Edition. Therefore I am assuming that those samples in the Pro Edition are the same as those in the First Edition (not looped). Before I buy the Pro Edition I want to be certain that I can get a sustained solo horn, trumpet, trombone, etc sound that will be looped. A 3 to 5 second sustain is just not enough for practical use.

It has been said on the forum that all "sustained" instruments are looped in the Pro Edition. Am I to understand that even the sustained notes for solo trumpet, trombone, horn, etc are looped even though it says the sample is from the "First" edition? Is this just a mistake on the web page?

  • All sustain samples for solo and ensemble brass, woodwinds, strings (also tremolos and trills) of the Pro Edition are looped.

In the articulation list for the Pro Edition only NEW recordings are listed.

There are also a lot new programmings for First Edition instruments in the Pro edition, which are not listed.

The articulation list should simply give you an overview about new recorded stuff. If you upgrade, you will receive the whole package including also the complete First Edition stuff. It's no add-on. It's a full version.
There are so many expansions for existing gigfiles, so I thought it is more userfriendly to offer compact gigfiles, and not "LONG NOTES" First Edition, "LONG NOTES" Pro Edition, and so on.

Therefore it is also possible to make a complete crossgrade to EXS or Gigastudio with this upgrade.

    best wishes

PS: didn't you receive my email Mike?
