    I sure love using the legato samples, but will be very happy when the stuck note bug is fixed. Herb mentioned that the only way around this now is not use more than 4 or 6(can't remember) p leg inst. on a port. Any idea when this will be fixed?? Has this been addressed in the Pro Edition?

    First, I'm a VSL FE newbie, and am very impressed by the quality and breadth of the VS Library - it is an amazing achievement, even in its first edition.

    However, I'm experiencing stuck notes quite often while using the Performance Tool with Legato gigs. Specifically, after some minimal amount of playing legato, I can no longer "get back" to detache.

    - most importantly: specifically, what is the best work-around to use until this is fixed? [*-)]:

    In the meantime I've found a temporary fix for this in another post on this forum. Select another track in your sequencer and hold down a note. While holding the note switch to the track that has the stuck perf leg note, then release the note. This will send a note off and stop the stuck note. Problem is I'm doing this all the time. I'm going to see if I can find another easier way to send a note off command in Logic. Panic isn't doing the trick. Looking forward to this being fixed.

    Thanks much for the tip Colin. Unfortunate that it's such an awkward workaround, but very good to know one way to get back to detache.

    ** Do the VSL folks (Herb, Christian, et al) have any suggestions that might be a little less painful? I'd appreciate hearing them very much. I'm hopeful that there are some preventive measures I can take to avoid this problem, as opposed to recovery measures.

    I thought I had worked around this problem by opening 2 performance tools, and dividing my legato instruments between 2 ports (with 4 to six on each) but I still have the stuck note problem too.

    What is the current limit of legato performance per port/application instance before hitting this problem? 4 ? 6? Based on my setup and knowing where my hanging note problems are, I think it's six. I guess I'll have to open a 3rd performance tool.

    At any rate, that seems to be a good work around. Assuming that none of us are able to load more than 16 legato instruments per computer, simply divide your legato instruments evenly (4 instruments per port) between the 4 ports in gigastudio, with a corresponding performance tool on each port. I think this works for now.[/code]
