  • Is there a 'posts since last visit' button

...anyone help me on this request?  I really liked that on the last forum software.  When I 'come back' to the Forum - I see any new 'posts'

  • I'd also like the return of this feature.

Meanwhile, here's what I did to get rid of all those orange squares reminding me to read topics I haven't read yet on this system (but have on the previous one).

While you're there, you can twiddle with the display options to see what works for you: Date Filter:  new since last visit is perhaps the most extreme version, but would certainly show only those posts since your last visit.

  • Thanks fcw.  VSL - what about this option.  Really would like to be drawn to just 'new' posts since last visit.  Possilbe?

  • Any update on 'views since last post' option in the new software.  Starting to miss the old software[:'(]

  • Dear Rob,

our focus is on making our whole website work flawlessly at the moment.

We are listening, but we have to set our priorities.

Thanks so much for your patience and understanding [:)]

    Best regards,

  • Understood Paul.  Just one more about 'priorities'

    #1 --  Choir

    #2 - everything else including the website[:P]

    All the best,

We are working on that one. Please give us some more time.

The forum marks all posts as unread you have not read. If you want that all posts of a forum are marked read, press the button on the bottm that says "More Options". There you will find a button "Mark all posts as read".

  • There should be a global button as well, not just one per forum.

  • Yes - similar to what VI Control forum has.  "View posts since last visit'.  In other words if at a 'visit' I choose not to read a post it gets cleared away on subsequent visits (of course unless subsequent posts have been made.)

And similar to the one at the VSL forum, no wait, that doesn't work any more. [:(]

  •  Hey Paul,

I know you have your hands full on VE but any progress on this issue?  Love to 'review/read' only NEW posts - since last visit.

    All the best,

    Rob

  • Hi Rob,

it´s good to know that you won´t let us forget th essential features [:)]

Please trust us that we will announce any progress!

I personally don´t have any problems with a fast "click" on an extra button, and I know I am not the only one who wants to help his colleagues, which means that I do read every post.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Yeah, but that annoying yellow button on the "Spawn of Satan" forum is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally distracting. [6]

  • Am I the only one who misses the feature that when you actually get a thread displayed as unread, that you can jump to the first unread post in it? I see only the possibilities to click the thread start or the last post in it. Or is this actually the thing whic hthe space in front of the thread title was reserved for? (I'd actually had done it vice versa... thread title with no or only little space, and the bigger space in the second line for the info about last post and such.)

Or is this again a thing I just overlooked? Thanks for your help!

  • Anything in the works about this forum feature?

  • Also VERY interested in this (just like VI Control forum).   I just hate wading through everthing to find the 'new posts' (which I can wade though - if they are all on the same page each time on logon - in just a few seconds - reading only what is of interest.
