  • Strange behaviour of the HO-4_perf-grace!

Is this a bug? Some of my instruments are changing their panorama position like the HO-4_perf-grace, which is starting in the middle position, but then suddenly is moving right. It seems to be loosing the left channel.

    Example: http://www.hohes-b.de/Bug.mp3

This happens also with a clear signal without any room placements or other effects.
I´d be really greatfull if someone could check, if his instrument is having the same problem.

Could this be an installation error?

  • Hi Felix. I can't find a patch called HO-4_perf-grace, which folder is it in?

  • Sorry! The patch is called

    Perf-gliss

  • Thanks for that - I can hear what you mean: the B flat gliss note starts off central then drifts over to the right on its sustain portion. However, the left channel is not cutting out (try muting the right channel and you'll see what I mean).

If the sample was played this way (i.e. the players on the right hand side played a louder sustain than those on the left) there's not much that can be done about it. However, if VSL have done some clever programming in this patch and grafted a sustain onto a glissando, they might be able to correct the L-R balance of the sus note.

  • At least, it´s not a problem of my system.

Even though I´m wondering, why nobody complained about this before, cause to me it´s quite a bug.

I remember this problem with some other patches, but not as bad as in the HO-gliss patch. Gone tell the support about this. May they´ll fix it.

My solution at the moment is to blend between a gliss and a sustain cell shortly before the drift begins. But a fix would save time for me.
