  • Saving Matrixes and current versions.

    hey gang:

    TWO PART UNRELATED QUESTIONS!

I should know how to do this but I don't. I've tried to figure it out in the tutuorials, but I can't find it. I can't find a way to save my customed matrixes, or turn my patch assignments into matrices. I'm running VI plug in through Logic and it doesn't look exactly like the window in the tutorials so I can't seem to find a save matix button. I'm also trying to start with the VI premade matrices and adjust a few things and resave them but I'm unclear about how to do that, and where to save them to so they can shoew up in the right hand matrix list with the other, VI made matrices.

Part 2. What's version of Logic and Mac OS is the latest version of VI fully compatible with what right now? I'm staying with Mac OS 10.4.8, Logic 7.2.3 and VI which I'm using as it's own plug in within logic (not stand alone) cause I know, with some occasional pooping, etc....it pretty reliably works.

Also, I can't find where, on vienna's website i can locate the latest VI drivers for intelmacs.

Sorry this is so rudimentary, like I said, i should know this, but I can't find info on the website.....it all may be there, I'm just having trouble finding it.

    thanks gang.

  • Hi Mark. If you open the VI and hit 'Matrix Assign' you'll notice a little light-blue floppy disk icon underneath the right hand window. Click on that to save the current matrix in your Custom Data folder.

  • I actually DID get that far...clicked the floppy, the save dialogue came up and said it was going to be saved in the user data folder or something like that, but the save button was greyed out and wouldn't let me do it. I tried changing the name of the matrix and no go.

Presumably there's something I'm forgetting to do.....but if I DO get these matrices to save will they show up in the matrix list with the other VI matrices or do I have to load them some other way that i don't know of yet......

Sorry for the round 2 here...

    thnks.

  • You do have to specify a specific folder (or multiple folders) for user data and run the VI's Directory Manager (aka 'ScanTool.exe') so it knows where to look - open the DM, click on 'Custom folders' and browse to the folder(s) you've created. (The DM can't cope with sub-folders.) Once you've completed the process your matrixes should appear at the bottom of the matrix list with a /G prefix.

If it doesn't work first time, close the VI and try again!

  • the directory manager can not cope with subfolders when adding locations for sample data using the ADD button instead of drag&drop - this does not at all affect subfolders in a custom data folder.
