    I'm about to travel and thought that it would be nice to carry along about 8 gigs of Vienna SE samples on a Flash drive. Is this possible? How does one know which of the 113 .dat files are needed for specific patches?

    unfortunately not possible - the structure within the data files is too special (related to spreading of preload cache ect) to just use a portion. what about a 64GB flash drive or something similar?

    Thanks, Christian -- I suspected this might be the case. 64 gig flash drives are still rather expensive; perhaps I'll try that next year, when they cost half as much.
