How much Ram can I adress with Windows XP and Forte using VI

Hi,

I´m a bit confused, if I could load more instruments to forte, if I give my PC 4 GB Ram instead of the 3 GB I use currently.

On one side on a friends computer VI is telling in the perform-section, that there are more than 3 GB available.

On the other side someone told me, that windows xp (using the 3 GB-switch) can adress a maximum of 2,7 GB Ram.

Is that right?

With a 4GB machine, the maximum is around 2.85, whilst remaining stable (host dependent) in XP32.
