  • Regarding slave computers

    Hi!

I'm entierly new to Vienna Instruments, and just recently ordered VI Special Edition.

I'm curious if it's possible to run VSL on a slave computer or so.

In which case, how could this be done?

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards

  • you can use any VST or AU host application (depending on your system and setup) to run Vienna Instruments Libraries on a slave computer.

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • could you please elaborate? would I need another vienna license?

  • Hi Fred,

you can run each Vienna Instruments collection on 1 computer only, as you license can only reside on one Vienna Key. But it´s no problem to use a dedicated computer for your Vienna Instruments and have your sequencer (with all additional plugins) on your main computer.

    Best,

Do you mean as 'standalone' on the 2nd computer, ie one preset or matrix at a time?
Is there any tutorial or instruction manual/guide how to maximise the number of VIs?
I use GS3 alongside the VIs and would love at some point to scrap GS3 and use VIs all the time. The trouble is, my G5 with its 4Gb RAM and 2.5GHz processor can't handle all that much at one go.
