  • Looking for feedback from users of Appasionatta Srings

Interested in purchasing Appasionata Strings. Always difficult to evaluate any sample library since one cannot get hands on experience until after the purchase.Asking for feedback from users. What do you like, don't like ,practical differences between standard and extended library ,etc. Thanks

  • What are you looking for in a string library? What do you have now? Beat's articulation movie gives you a good idea of what you're getting in Appasionata. Give us a bit more info so we can steer you in the right direction.

  • OK..... I have Opus 1 and 2 and East West Gold. Again i am asking for user feedback. I frankly don't trust demos that much. And obviously once purchased, sample libraries can't be returned. Adjectives like sweeter ,soaring, mystical (if you will) and passionate seem to be what i am looking for.A convincing legato woulod be nice also.

  • Go to the demo area and listen to Jay Bacal's rendition of Vaughn William's Thomas Tallis piece. Incredible.

I use Appassionata professionally as an orchestrator and can tell you they're great and have generated much interest with the people at the top of this profession.

  • I have the complete Pro Edition, which I've been very happy with. (Hope to upgrade to VI Cube soon!) But, to me, Appasionata Strings have a sound all their own. Warm, rich and lush. More meat...more texture. They're simply gorgeous. Okay, I'm out of adjectives. [:D]

I purchased Appassionata Strings last week and I am very impressed. They have character and personality -- not just sweeping, soaring legs. So they are useful not only for stratospheric string writing (by the way they sound best in the upper registers to me), but quiet chords sound fantastic with them.

I would say that Jay's rendition of "Fantasia..." gives you an excellent idea of what the library sounds like. It is a demo which really tells the truth about the samples.

Sorry for not more detail, but in a time crunch now. Perhaps when I get back in town, I can give a more detailed analysis.
