  • Help - can't install Symphonic Cube

Sorry if I'm being exceptionally dumb here, but having received Symphonic Cube this morning and set aside the weekend to install it, I seem to have hit a brick wall before I've even started. I've read and am following the Quickstart guide to the letter.

I hawe installed my USB key, which the system recognizes fine. However, (1st possible problem) the Licxense Control Centre software on the VSL CD will not install - it says there is nothing install, presumably because I already have the latest version installed on the system. I'm just hoping Vienna Instruments don't need a special version of the LCC.

The main problem is that when I run the Vienna Instruments LIbrary Installer, and point at the package.info file on the first DVD, I get a dialogue saying:

"The following licenses are needed to install this package ...."

...and nothing happens when I ok this dailogue.

I'm assuming I can install the library before registereing, as the Quickstart guide says this can be done with the demo license on the key. All I can see on the Key, when I check in LCC is a key icon saying "All Applications - Demo" and underneath "Remaining Starts 180".

Please, can anyone give me some pointers as to what I'm doing wrong. I need the library installed for sessions on Monday, so I'm a bit stuffed if I can't proceed.

Many many thanks in advance for any help or advice.

    Hi and welcome Trailerman [:)],

please make sure that you have the latest Syncrosoft LCC installed (the one contained on your Software CD is probably older).

Which system are you working on? Did you try the installation with different collections?

You are right, you can install the collections wih the help of the Demo License that sits on your Vienna Key.

Please give us more informations on your system, I´m sure we´ll make this work [:)]

  • please make also sure you don't have any anti-virus or firewall software running blocking something (eg. zone alarm and some versions of norton prohibit almost everything)
i can confirm you have downloaded solo, chamber, orchestral strings and woodwinds I license (all standard) to your ViennaKey

  • Hi Paul - many thanks for your help.

I have the latest version of Syncrosoft LCC installed from Steinberg. I presume this is why your version will not install.

I am working on Mac G5 under OS 10.4.9.

Ths issue appears to be that there are no licenses on the key. As a result, I have now activated all the collections, and downloaded all the activation codes to the key. Installation now seems to be progressing ok. It just would have been nice to get the installation going without having to activate everything.

    Thanks again for your hlep.

  • thanks for letting us know - the 180 starts demo code _is_ intended to get you going in a first run without registrations. we will have to ask syncrosoft why your demo license might have not allowed to install the symphonic cube.

btw: i've detected an old account for you - please send me short note when you're finished so i can merge your records.

  • Hi Christian/Paul

I have finished activating my current licenses, and would now like to purchase some Extended Versions. When I login currently the Discount Calculator shows I have no products. I guess this may be because of the duplicate accounts?

If you would be able to merge the accounts so that my licenses appear and I can order Extended versions, I would be extremely grateful.

    Many thanks for your help.
