Okay, I know I'm posting too much today, but editing VIs always makes my brain wander off...
Would it be possible, in some future update to the VI, to make a whole-tone/semi-tone sampled switch? The idea, obviously, would be a form of memory-saver, since switching to whole-tone samples would presumably cut the memory roughly in half. Sound possible? Desirable?
I'm currently debating the Extended upgrade for my Winds 1 and Brass 1, so the memory question is looming large again...
Also, Christian, if you have any reply for my previous questions about the viability of an XP64 slave (I was wondering about running multiple copies of Bidule on an XP64 slave with 8 GB ram), I'd really appreciate your thoughts. Partly, the desire is just to load more instruments, but perhaps more importantly, I'd like to be able to load an entire Extended "ensemble" (all Solo Strings, or Brass, for example) on a single machine... Well, not an "entire" ensemble perhaps, but certainly one in which each instrument can draw from the broadest possible range of articulations. With the recent playback improvements offered by Sibelius 5 it seems that the notion of actually composing what I *want* to hear, directly to score, is coming within reach. So, once again, the more RAM I can access, the better. Obviously, this is nothing new, but it's become an issue again now! [;)]
Thanks in advance,
J.
