Hi, I searched for something concerning my doubt in the forum but couldn't find it.
I'd like to understand how the Velocity Xfade works when I use VI in Logic.
The point is that I don't have a keyboard with modwheel or pitchwheel (though i intend to get one after the summer) but i would like to use velocity xfade anyway when i record a track in Logic.
What I thought was this: if I record a track and have Xfade on and move the virtual slider with the mouse, it should have the same effect as moving it with a modwheel. But then when I hear what I record, there's no sign of any velocity xfade in what i hear...so what i thought was wrong: velocity xfade is not something that is recorded as a Track Automation.
From what I understand, when I use the modwheel to control velocity Xfade, logic writes a Track Automation for the Modwheel. Then when I play it back, the modwheel track automation gives the input to the Vienna Software Instrument to use the velocity xfade, right?
In this case, if I don't have a modwheel, say because I only have a laptop and I'm on a train trip [:D] , do i have any chance to use velocity xfade at all in Logic?
With a virtual fader in the environment for example?
Sorry if my thread was a bit confused, but that's the way I feel about this subject. [:)]
So thanks twice for all your help!
Paolo
