  • universal mode - vienna instruments library

    Hi.

I just purchased the Vienna appassionata strings. I saw a tutorial featuring the universal mode -- looks like a great tool to me. I cannot locate it in the appassionata strings package for the Vienna Instruments library. Please assist --

    Thank you.

  • Hi Soundkeyz. Do you have the extended version? If so, look in the violins, violas, cellos or basses Matrix list under 'Matrix - LEVEL 2'. (This option isn't available for the full Strings, just the individaul sections.)

  • Hello and welcome soundkeyz [:)],

you have registered Standard Libraries exclusively so far. The Universal Mode is a matrix that makes use of quite some articulations which are contained in the Extended Libraries only.

BTW: You have a Demo license on your Vienna Key (if you ordered one) - this way you see all the patches, matrices and presets marked with "L2" (Extended Library).

If you don´t have a Vienna Key, you can request a Demo Mode to check out your Extended Library patches, matrices and presets at support@vsl.co.at. In the second case, please give us a short description of your situation [;)]

    Best,

    Paul

  • I was planning on upgrading all to level 2, but I definitely need some more articulations. I can get access to those by upgrading, and also get universal matrixes?

I do have the Vienna Key; how do I access them as demo mode off the key?

I'm indecisive as far as whether to upgrade to level 2 or to use the funds to buy additional instruments in standard mode...

Please let me know -- thanks!

  • you got mail - obviously you have already used up the initial 180 starts from demo mode #1 on your vienna key.

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • I'm sorry; I am not sure what you mean by "you've got mail".

On the contrary; I have just purchased, received, installed, and registered this product. I have only used about 6 instances on the demo. I've searched the demo license trials, and am having difficulty finding the universal matrixes, or to what product those are for.

I apologize for my ignorance; I'm a brand new user to VSL. I'm excited about what it can do for me, but am overwhelmed by the options / articulations / patches etc and need some help navigating through them.

I had registered my "Appassionata Strings" (as well as the special edition, special brass, and percussion) and was hoping to find the universal matrixes on that product...I'm unsure as to where to look.

If it's not available for that product (either in level 1 or 2), I would rather buy the product that has that matrix with the money I have instead of upgrading to level 2.

Paul mentions "The Universal Mode is a matrix that makes use of quite some articulations which are contained in the Extended Libraries only." So where do I find those matrixes?

    Thanks all!

  • I'm sorry; I missed Conquer's response. That may be where I need to look.

I believe I did look there, and only found combinations matrixes. But I'll look again tonight -- thank you.

    Hello soundkeyz,

please have a look at our Video Tutorials, there´s also a detailed tutorial about the Universal Mode Matrix.

You find it in the "Level 2A Advanced" Matrices, it is the first matrix.

    Best,

    Paul
