    All special woodwinds seem to be there, only not the Bass Flute. Why?

    Hi Mathis. I don't think the heckelphone and contrabass clarinet are there. The bass flute is a pretty rare instrument, I wouldn't expect to find it in a cut-down budget edition.

    I see you're right. I saw the basset horn though and didn't think that this would be more regular than a bass flute...

    I agree - I guess VSL included some of their newer, more specialist instruments to demonstrate the scope of their library. Understandably, they didn't include everything, otherwise nobody would buy their Vienna Instrument collections!
