  • Advantages/disadvantages in Giga/EXS versions of Perf.Set?

I have the Giga Performance Set, which is great! However, since I'm a Mac-man running Logic 6.1, I figure it must be even better to have the Performance Set inside my Mac. Every session loads the correct samples, and so on... Plus, if I crossgrade, I can share instruments between my Mac and PC, which means I won't run out of processor power so easily.

Are there any features in the Giga version that are missing in the EXS version, and vice versa?

    Thanks!

    Malo

  • malo, after crossgrading from giga first to exs pro you still may use the performance set for gigastudio. generally there are no features missing, but there are several enhancements in the pro, which you will then still miss on your giga-version (this applies to some instruments which i can't name from memory now, so the first edition should be still more than usefull for you after crossgrading)

Yes, I'm happily aware of that! [:D]

To rephrase my question: What are the differences between the Giga version and the EXS version of the Performance Set Pro Edition?

    Thanks!

  • malo, to rephrase your question: the difference between the pro edition exs-version and the pro edition gigastudio version is (cite from manual)
EXS24 does not support release control, but allows more dimensions, so that “_all” instruments for
EXS24 will sometimes contain more patches. Where such instruments dedicated to only one of the platforms appear, the entries will be marked separately with either “Giga” or “EXS”.
    that's all i know ...
