  • IMAC and VSL and LOGIC

    Im having a real problem.
Yesterday i've installed Vienna Instruments. My instruments directory is on a external harddrive. so far no problem.
But when I use Logic, the instrument doesn't show up in the AU manager. I cannot use Vienna instruments this way in Logic.
Does someone maybe know how to solve this. I already tried to rescan and rescan the AU manager.. but it still cannot find the instrument.
    Thank u

  • If all the instruments are accounted for on your external hard drive, try this:

    1. Clear your Vienna Instruments Directory Manager of all listed instruments.

    2. Leave the VI Directory Manager Window open, and open your Vienna external hard drive. Navigate to the folder containing your instrument samples and open that folder.

    3. Select all instruments in that folder and drag them to the VI Directory Manager.

    4. Browse again for your custom folder (towards the bottom of the Directory Manager Window), and quit.

    5. Shut down the computer for a few minutes to help flush old file references.

    6. Try using VI in Logic again. If the problem is still there, then there is something going on a little more serious which needs attention.

Once the new Cube was released, I've been using in Logic less and less. I'm not sure if Logic's Project Manager has an impact on this, but I've not had to use it. I've been using Digital Performer a lot more, and it seems to be entirely obedient to the Vienna Instruments Directory Manager where finding samples is concerned.

    Good luck!
