I'm curious how much difference there actually is between the VI special edition standard instruments and the VSL Kontakt orchestra bundled with K2. I can see that solo instruments are included which for me is critical but I'm not clear if there is much difference in the articulations or if the samples used are the same or quite different. Obviously the VI interface should make for some improvements in ease of use and musicality but I don't know if it's a dramatic one. I suppose as much as anything, the question is really does VI help the music to come to life more
Wondering if, considering my main lack is a top quality combination for string quartet whether I'd be better of getting the VI solo strings instead, bearing in mind that I don't really have need for more than articulations required to play standard classic/romatic repertoire. And that raises a separate question of whether, considering I already have K2, it might be better to get the Horizon solo strings (if still available). Then again, the VI demos show a good deal more musicality --but is it because they're just better demos or does the VI programming really make a huge difference?
Sorry, this is several questions in one really but all input would be warmly welcomed
