Ever since I bought VSL Vienna SE, I neglect my other expensive orchestral libraries. Oh sure, I use an occasional staccato string sound here, a tuba sound there, but I have the recurring problem of replacing them with my VSL sounds. Where I once found my other horn libraries fat and satisfying, now sound limp and weak compared to the Epic Horns. And the saxophones? Forget about it. I cannot even listen to my other libraries, even ones that are specifically designed for jazz compared to the VSL saxes.
And this condition is growing. I find myself adding more and more VSL sounds to my compositions until they take over. And it doesn't even stop there! I find myself wanting the full libraries to take advantage of the greater range of velocities and variety!
The worst part is that I often day dream at my mindless day job about various compositions that I'll work on when I get home to my iMac and Vienna SE.
