    Hi guys,

    I got the cube and Perf Set. How do you deal with 1st and 2nd Violins...?
    Lets say I have a passage that is to be played in unison between 1st+2nd Viloins and then it splits up and the 1st ones play a melody and the second ones play accompanyment...how would you go about that...?
    ...if I use only one patch for the unison then I have only 14guys playing...if I add some other patch I have the problem of phases here and there even I don't quantize and play it in ...

    I have an add on to my question above....
    Herb, if you were to mock up Mozarts kleine Nachtmusik, how would you approach it...which patches would you consider ?

    What would you lay down first ? I am working on one giga machine...

    If you would have some pointers that would be great. Thanks.

    There are plans for another violin section with fewer players. This will not be avalible until the symphonic cube is released.

    My suggestion is to try and use the viola section as '2nd violins'. They sound very nice, and I have used them as a violin section with a layered solo violin...worked very well.

    I wanted to let you know that I tried putting the violas through as the '2nd violins'...(I used the viola section patch for the violas). It worked very well.

    In the pro edition another performance legato Vi 14 have been recorded so you could possibly use those as your 2nd violins if you had a unison line. If you are splitting up the notes and wish to use the performance set than one patch on two seperate midi channels should do the trick.

    Craig's suggestion to use one patch assigned to 2 (or 3) midi tracks is the trick. One of my giga machines is 'only' 1 gig of ram and I am limited on how many samples I can load up. This is a useful approach to that. I'll list them on my sequencer as;

    VL leg -1
    VL leg -2
    VL leg -3

    I then have 'three' oppty's to use this terrific patch (it sounds so good). Another advantage is that it makes me think less pianistically. My counterpoint and individual voice leading is better. Hope this helps [:D] .
