  • Enquiry about fast legato in VI woodwinds.

I have a piece of music that I need fast woodwind runs in them. I notice that the fast legato is present in the solo and ensemble sections for the standard version. I need to be able to create runs that will sound realistic at different fast tempos.

In listening to the demo's for the woodwinds VI no 1, in some of the demo's I hear what seem to be quite fast legato playing in the solo and ensemble demo's. If this speed, and scale type passages I hear in the demo's are accomplished using the fast legato, this would be the samples that I am wanting.

Thanks if someone can help me out with some info here.

    best,

    Steve M.

    Hi Steve
    Pleased to meet you.
It is difficult to talk about something like this matter. I created a run which was played with different woodwind instruments.
You will make out always the same pattern

    1. Runs and the rest of the part are played with Perf Leg
    2. Runs and the rest of the part are played with Perf Leg fa
    3. Runs and the rest of the part are played with Perf Trills samples. (Ext. Version?)

Beside the natural played runs the Perf Trill runs are my favourites. But even if you use the „common“ legato samples they sound great – also in fast sections.

Listen to all these runs – and you will agree with me (once more) that the Vienna samples are phenomenal… More words would destroy the phenomenon.

  • Hi Beat,

thanks for the reply. I'm at work at the moment in a break writing this, so when I'm back to base, I'll check out the demos.

I' have the SE full edition so I'll give the ww's in there a go with some runs.

Looking forward to listening to the demo's you posted.
Yes, I am thinking more and more about ordering the VI woodwinds now.

    thanks again for your help,

    best,

    Steve [:D]

  • Beat,

these just sound fantastic! I listened to every one of these demo's.
    Amazing.
I am so glad I have the legato woodwinds in the SE. Even thought they don't have the fast legato and the trills, I will use the ordinary legato for runs for now, as my next purchase is planning to be the extended libraries for the Orchestral Strings 1 and 2 which I already have just the standard version at the moment.

Thank you so much for all your time and care in putting these together.
    Very much appreciated Beat.

Oh - yes, greetings from Australia to Switzerland [:D]

    regards,

    Steve.
