  • Any News if or when we'll get a 64bit VI-Player?

Any News if or when we'll get a 64bit VI-Player?
Perhaps I am not informed enough, but since it seems quite attractive to run VI on PC's with more than 2,7GB Ram and the VI-Player seems to be the last gap for a complete 64bit System I would like to know, if anything like a 64bit-VI is ever possible or perhaps already in the pipeline.

  • This too is a question I have been anxiously awaiting the answer to. [[;)]]

  • Why does no one from Vienna answer anything? [*-)]

This question is at least important relating to the decisions to make when updating the hardware.

So asked again: would it ever make sense to be prepared for Vista and 64bit Systems and if so when?

  • steffen, you possibly know our policy to not announce something until it is available ...
but to answer your rephrased question: it absolutely makes sense, although i can't comment on any VISTA details so far - the base of available vista-ready native 64-bit drivers and applications is simply too little and i have my hands only on a few machines holding enouch RAM to actually say something relevant ...

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • OK, so far it seems for the moment to make sense to let the Ram-prices fall still bit more. [[;)]]
