Does anyone know of a 3rd party plug that would work in DP that will change a patch-change message into a Note message?
The application is this.
As you all know, the keyswitches for different instruments in VI are in different 8ves depending on the range of the instrument. I would like to use a patch change to trigger these keyswitches to change matrix. This has several advantages:
-1 there is no need to remember what 8ves the keyswitches are in since the same patch change can be mapped differently for each instrument.
-2 No crappy meaningless keys on your MIDI track which cause Copyist headaches later on for printing out scores.
-3 Patch changes are better than CC because they don't clutter an already cluttered CC view (pan, vol, exp, etc.) and (at least in DP) you can name the patch changes for an instrument you set up. So on the track it just has a small tab that says "staccato" or "legato" or whatever when you make a chage. (incredibly useful at a glance to see what actual matrix is being used as upposed to just C1, C#1, etc.
Any insight on such a beast?
