  • Can (Sonar, Sibelius and FL Studio) work with VSL Special?

I'm a composer who is from New Zealand. I have got sonar 5 Producar, Sibelius 4 and FL Studio 7 Producar Edition at home. Does they work with VSL Specical Edition? IF so, How can I set up them to work with VSL? Please let me know about it. Thanks.

  • All VST capable hosts can work with VSL VI's, and thus also the Special Edition.
I use Sonar myself and Overture - don't know if Sibelius and FL is
VST hosts - but I would suggest they are. Almost all sequencers and hosts are these days.

There is no special setting it up - just install the VSL VI ( and offcause
the Syncrosoft software for the dongle protection ). Install the library and
    you're almost done.

In Sonar you may have to do a VST scan in your plug-in manager - after
that the VSL VI will appeer in your Insert instrument menu.

In any event just read the VSL manual for the VI - that will guide you throgh the setup.

  • Sibelius is not currently a VST host, so you would have to connect via a virtual MIDI cable. I use this method to connect Sibelius to nuendo and it works fine.

  • What is "VST scan in your plug-in manager" in Sonar? Where can i find it?

  • Inside Sonar 6 its in the tools menu - but in Sonar 5 I seem to remember
its still a wrapper that you have to access via the windows
Start->Programs->Cakewalk menu or maybe its Start->Programs->Sonar
can't remember - but I still have Sonar 5 installed also so I can check it later.

You could also check the Sonar manual [[;)]]
